Job Description:
The College of Saint Rose invites applications and nominations for an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education in the Thelma P. Lally School of Education, beginning August 2022. This is a full time, tenure track position.
The Thelma P. Lally School of Education boasts thousands of alumni in educational and clinical settings throughout the world changing lives through expert teaching, therapy, counseling, and administration.
Responsibilities will include teaching 12 credits per semester of graduate and undergraduate courses in Teacher Education from among the following sample courses:

ELE 586 or EDU 390/391 - Methods of Teaching Math and Science grades 1-6

EDU 590 - Research Seminar

EDU 550 - Advanced Instructional Design (PK-12)

EDU 540 - Informal Student Based Assessment

SEC 515 or SEC 365 - Curriculum & Instruction grades 7-12
Additionally, responsibilities include contributing to the continuing development and refinement of the Teacher Education programs, engaging in scholarship, attending internal and external events applicable to the College and the candidate's academic discipline, academic advising, program assessment, curriculum development, and participation in Department, School, and College committees. The Assistant Professor may have the opportunity to teach courses during the summer months.
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or Ed.D (or equivalent foreign degree) from an accredited institution in Teaching and Curriculum, or a closely related academic field, at the start date on August 15, 2022.
An ABD from an accredited institution, U.S.-based or foreign, in Teaching and Curriculum, or a closely related academic field, will be considered if the degree will be completed within 1 year from start date, August 15, 2022.
Additional requirements include a minimum of three years of experience in the field of Childhood and/or Adolescence Education; a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, a record of scholarly work or professional impact in the field of Teacher Education, superior written and oral communication skills and, if selected to advance, a successful demonstration of teaching ability and scholarship during the on-campus interview.
Eligibility to obtain NYS Professional licensure is required in one or more of the following areas: Birth-grade 2, grades 1-6, grades 7-12 (English, mathematics, science, or social studies) by the start date on August 15, 2022.
